Magnificent nature Walks, India

 

Found thirty-eight kms from Mannarkkad, is a place consisting of normally hilly highland terrain, fed by the tributaries of the River Cauvery. A gorgeous mix of mountains, rivers and forests, Attapaddy is of fantastic interest to anthropologists, as this is the habitat of lots of people like the ‘irolas’ and ‘mudugars’.

Another hillside station can be discovered at an altitude of 1600 m above sea level. It was as soon as the summertime resort of the erstwhile British government in South India. Stretching tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes and holiday properties make this a popular resort town. Among the exotic flora discovered in the forests and meadows is the ‘Neelakurinji’.

It is located 7 kms north east of Thirunelli Temple in Brahma Giri Hills. One has to trek 17 kms with the wild forests, to reach ‘Pakshipathalam’ Numerous who are browsing for an energetic exercise in the outdoors discover their ways right here.

The forests of Wayanad are a veritable treasure home of Flora and Fauna. 3 Km from Lakkidi is the Pookote Lake, covered in parts with lotus, an image out of a fairy tale book. At 6,890 ft is Chembra Peak simply 24 Km from Vythiri.
